Nielsen study shows multitasking media habits

Americans spend about 3.5 hours per month watching TV shows on the Internet and nearly six out of 10 TV viewers say they surf the Web simultaneously at least once a month, according to a Nielsen study. "The initial fear was that Internet and mobile video and entertainment would slowly cannibalize traditional TV viewing, but the steady trend of increased TV viewership alongside expanded simultaneous usage argues something quite different," said Nielsen's Matt O'Grady.
