Teacher uses blog to immerse students in Spanish-language culture

A teacher at a California school is using a blog by a former student to help her second-graders learn about culture and language. The blog's author is studying in Uruguay and provides regular updates for the class. "Right now, we're reading about the types of clothing the people in Uruguay are wearing," said Spanish teacher Christine Navakovich. "They dress like we do during the summer months, only they do it year-round. It's much hotter in Uruguay than it is here."
