Chiquita details plans for 2003

Chiquita Brands International chairman and CEO Cyrus Freidheim is spending 2003 cutting costs and focusing on the company's core banana business. To demonstrate Chiquita's ability to meet cost-reduction targets, the company plans to:

  • Sell its canned vegetable division to Seneca Foods for more than $200 million, including cash, stock and assumed debt.
