Agents can capitalize on trend for weekend trips

Younger travelers are taking long weekend trips rather than longer vacations, but they don't want to trade down. "Clients are not cutting back on expense or experience just because it is a long weekend trip and not one or two weeks long," said Suzette Covell, director of the vacation division of Casto Travel Inc. The trend offers an opportunity for travel agents who can market shorter getaway packages.
