Eastside link urged for proposed New Jersey-Manhattan rail project

The benefits of a proposed rail tunnel linking New Jersey with Manhattan would be far greater if the project were extended to include a link between Penn Station on the city's West Side and Madison Avenue on the East Side, according to a new report. Planners say the majority of New Jersey commuters work on the East Side.
