While business aviation companies struggle and even face bankruptcy in the current economy, one industry that has been thriving is business jet maintenance, catering to companies that upgrade their existing airplanes rather than buy new ones. Business has been booming, for instance, for Uvalde, Texas-based Sierra Industries, a highly specialized makeover shop for business airplanes, jets and turboprops.
