Hawaii Senate Democrats to meet to try to save civil-union bill

Hawaii Senate Democrats are scheduled to meet today to try to hash out a way to move out of committee a stalled measure to offer civil unions to same-sex couples. The bill previously cleared the Hawaii House. More than 80% of Hawaiians back equal rights for all couples, according to a survey by QMark Research and Polling.
