Petition drive gets go-ahead for anti-Proposition 8 ballot question

Yes on Equality, a California marriage-rights group, has until Aug. 17 to gather the almost 700,000 signatures required to place a question on the 2010 ballot that would ask voters in the state to repeal the Proposition 8 constitutional marriage ban, according to an order from the California secretary of state.
