Stiff competition persists for title of tallest tower in Europe

When it is completed, the Shard of Glass tower in London will become the tallest building in western Europe. However, the skyscraper may not hold that title for long. In Paris, developers recently announced plans for twin towers that will exceed the height of the Shard by more than 42 feet. Nevertheless, observers note that Shard developers are successfully moving forward with the project as other developers struggle to secure financing.
