White House dismisses talk of divided leadership at FDA

President Barack Obama's nomination of Dr. Margaret Hamburg as FDA commissioner and Dr. Joshua Sharfstein as principal deputy raises the possibility that the two might share leadership responsibilities at the agency. Administration officials, however, denied speculations that Hamburg would focus on food and tobacco issues while Sharfstein would concentrate on regulating medical products.
