Amtrak requests additional $446M to replace aging cars

Amtrak has added another $446 million to its funding request to Congress to pay for new locomotives and rail cars. That's in addition to Amtrak's current $2.1 billion budget proposal for the fiscal year beginning in October. Amtrak's "most urgent unfunded need," according to CEO Joseph Boardman, is the replacing its aging fleet.
