D.C. school district hires restaurateur to revamp menus

To combat rising childhood obesity rates and improve the nutritional value of its public school lunch offerings, the District of Columbia has hired former New York City restaurant owner Jeff Mills to re-make the system. Mills is testing several pilot projects, including serving breakfast in classrooms, and says he plans to focus on adding more fruits, vegetables and whole grains and reducing processed foods.
