FDA seeks further action on manufacturing problems at Genzyme plant

The FDA intends to "take enforcement action" that might involve hiring a third-party inspection team to investigate manufacturing processes at Genzyme's plant in Allston, Mass., in light of recurring problems. Genzyme Chairman Henri Termeer said the biotech firm is "truly advancing in the recovery of the Allston plant."
