GAO report suggests that FDA improve planning, tech and standards

A report from the Government Accountability Office recommends that the FDA clarify its goals in planning and management, as well as set better performance standards to boost oversight of drugs, medical devices and food. The FDA agreed with many criticisms and suggestions in the report, which also recommends enhancement for the agency's information system and other scientific technology as well as improvement in employee recruitment.
