Online medical presence a must, experts say

Many physicians are uncomfortable with social media because they're unsure about establishing a presence online. However, "[t]he biggest risk of social media in health care is not using it at all," according to a new book by social networking pioneer Dr. Kevin Pho and medical publisher Susan Gay. The book offers doctors advice on overcoming their reticence and establishing an effective presence online, which is "where the patients are going to be," according to the authors.
