Rep. Hastings: Energy development to benefit from House budget

Legislation that would set aside $984 billion in spending for six months cleared the House of Representatives. The spending plan will pave the way for new production in federal properties and the approval of key projects such as TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline, said Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee.
