Disney to acquire YouTube-channel producer Maker Studios

Disney has moved to acquire YouTube multichannel network Maker Studios for $500 million in cash. The deal helps Disney strengthen its online presence by utilizing Maker resources to promote Disney content with digital-first consumes while making use of Maker content from 55,000 digital channels on its other platforms. Maker can earn $450 million more if specified performance metrics are met.
