Texas Tackles Obesity With Physical Education

After a seven-year hiatus, the Texas Board of Education on March 22 decided to reinstate mandatory physical education for elementary school students. The new rule is to allocate at least 135 minutes of gym per week for students. A quarter of all U.S. schoolchildren don't attend physical education classes, says P.E.4Life Executive Director Anne Flannery.
