Timetable constrains first-year ramp-up of D.C. voucher program

Yesterday, the Washington Scholarship Fund, overseer of Washington, D.C.'s new school voucher program, warned that many private schools have already filled their seats for the upcoming school year, leaving only a small number open to public school students. Private school administrators said because Congress approved the legislation in January, they had not had enough time to include the program in their fall admissions planning.
