Ad legend Hal Riney dies at 75

Legendary San Francisco adman Hal Riney, who created memorable campaigns for automaker Saturn, Bartles & Jaymes wine coolers and the 1984 reelection campaign of President Ronald Reagan, died Monday at his home, at the age of 75. Riney is credited with establishing San Francisco as an advertising center. According to protege Jeff Goodby, 28 agencies were founded by Riney acolytes.
