ASLA offers tips for water conservation

The American Society of Landscape Architects is offering tips to homeowners concerned about scarce water supplies. According to ASLA, good landscape design -- including the use of native plants, plenty of mulch and drip irrigation systems -- can save both money and natural resources. "By planning now, people can save hundreds of dollars and thousands of gallons of water this summer," ASLA says.
