Decades-long study confirms familial hypertension link

A study that has followed 1,160 men since 1947 confirms the link between parents' high blood pressure and chances their children will develop hypertension. The study found if parents had hypertension by age 55 their children's risk of developing it early was sevenfold higher than normal.
