Study: MRI predicts risk of post-therapy prostate cancer recurrence

Researchers were able to identify patients susceptible to post-treatment prostate cancer relapse and metastasis after conducting an evaluation of their MRI images prior to external beam radiation therapy. "Patients with substantial extracapsular spread of prostate cancer may wish to discuss options for more aggressive therapy with their treating physicians," the study's co-author said.
