Obama: "I'm a big believer in persistence"

In a televised prime-time press conference Tuesday, President Barack Obama said his $3.55 trillion budget contained strategies to create jobs, help homeowners, ease lending and drive the economy toward recovery. The president pushed for broader federal oversight over insurance institutions and urged Americans to be patient while his administration works on fixing problems. "I'm a big believer in persistence," he said.
