CBO: Social Security contributions will fall short of payments this year

The Congressional Budget Office said Social Security payments will outstrip money paid into the program this year. Until recently, contributions were expected to cover the payout until at least 2016. Stephen C. Goss, chief actuary of the U.S. Social Security Administration, said the CBO's projection is probably correct.
