Free agency now is a big employment pool in Silicon Valley

Whether it's because of the economy and layoff situation no one really knows, but the number of one-man tech companies in Silicon Valley has increased so dramatically that one industry watcher is calling it a "Valley of free agents." The number of nonemployer firms increased 24.6% from 2002 to 2007 to 124,561.
