House Ways and Means to prioritize jobs-focused energy measures

Jobs-focused energy legislation will be the priority of the House Ways and Means Committee when Congress reconvenes after the Easter recess, said Rep. Sandy Levin, D-Mich., the panel's chairman. Committee member Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., is expected to offer for discussion a bill he co-sponsored that would extend a number of ethanol-related incentives that experts said would save 112,000 jobs. "At a time when our economy is struggling, we cannot afford to let these tax incentives expire," Pomeroy said.
