MetroPCS, Verizon Wireless offer more details on LTE plans

MetroPCS has chosen a Samsung handset, the SCH-r900, to introduce LTE service later this year starting in Las Vegas, the prepaid carrier disclosed Wednesday at CTIA WIRELESS®. In getting first to market with LTE-based 4G service, MetroPCS will operate over a Samsung-powered infrastructure. Verizon Wireless Chief Technology Officer Tony Melone told reporters the carrier would begin conducting "friendly user trials in a handful of markets" on its LTE service.
