Deutsche Telekom Chief Executive Officer Rene Obermann said Wednesday that there were no plans to dispose of or merge its T-Mobile USA unit despite its No. 4 position in the marketplace. In a Wall Street Journal interview, Obermann said, "We consider the U.S. market to be highly attractive in the years to come." T-Mobile USA Chief Technology Officer Cole Brodman discussed the carrier's plans with GigaOm, saying the average Android user consumes 400 megabytes to 600 MB a month, but that the 2% who use almost 10 times that amount will ultimately force carriers to adopt usage-based pricing.
