RFA lauds unveiling of bill to extend ethanol incentives, tariff

The Renewable Fuels Association hailed the bill unveiled by House Reps. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., and John Shimkus, R-Ill., that would extend the ethanol blenders' credit and the tariff on imported ethanol until Dec. 31, 2015. The proposal also seeks to extend incentives for small producers and cellulosic-ethanol production to Jan. 1, 2016. "Passage of the [bill] will provide investors with the long-term stability needed to bring next-generation technologies to commercialization. Likewise, it allows current ethanol producers to invest with confidence in new efficiencies to further improve upon ethanol's economic and environmental benefits," said RFA President Bob Dinneen.
