Sen. Leahy urges Obama to appoint a fuel oil exec to CFTC

Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., sent a letter to President Barack Obama in support of the appointment of Sean Cota, a fuel oil executive from Vermont, to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Cota has been active in the Commodity Markets Oversight Coalition and has supported increased regulation of derivatives. "His knowledge was integral in the drafting of key commodity, swap, and derivative provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act," Leahy wrote.
