CTIA and the wireless industry are extremely concerned about our customers and their safety. To protect yourself in the event that your device is stolen, you should take two steps to render it useless. One is to use a password to prevent others from accessing your device. The second is to use an app that can remotely wipe your personal information from your device. Some of these apps also use location technology that can track your device. With these simple steps, you can safeguard your data and possibly recover your device. Remember: if your cellphone is stolen, inform your carrier immediately. You'll also want to contact police and file a report on the theft. For more information, watch CTIA Vice President of Public Affairs John Walls explain these tips at the CTIA Blog.
