Experts create technique to predict type 1 diabetes onset

Researchers at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital developed a new technique to help predict type 1 diabetes onset in mice by identifying nanoparticles using MRI. The study indicates the short diagnostic window occurs early in life and the onset of diabetes does not require an extra trigger such as a secondary infection. The findings appear in Nature Immunology.
