Experts ID mortality risk factors in type 2 diabetes

Data showed older age, lower income, higher BMI, insulin treatment and a history of cardiovascular events including myocardial infarction and stroke were among the factors that predict heart disease-related mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes. The study in Diabetes Care found older age, lower income and a history of congestive heart failure predicted non-CV mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes.
