More physicians provide concierge services

About 4,400 physicians now provide "concierge" or "retainer" services, with an estimated 1,000 providers shifting to the practice in 2011, according to the American Academy of Private Physicians. Such practices enable physicians to maintain their incomes with a less demanding schedule while giving patients more personalized services.
