Battery charger ICs reduce charging time for mobile devices, TI says

Texas Instruments has introduced the bq2419x line of battery charger chips, which it says can cut the time needed to recharge lithium-ion batteries for smartphones and tablet computers in half. The chipmaker said the integrated circuits reach 92% energy efficiency at 2 amperes and up to 90% efficiency at 4A.
