MIPS cores are built into Altair's 4G/LTE chipsets

MIPS processor cores, certified by Verizon Communications for 4G Long-Term Evolution wireless networks, are the basis of Altair Semiconductor's new FourGee-3800 and FourGee-3802 baseband processors, according to Imagination Technologies Group. "MIPS cores are at the heart of all our FourGee product families, which are gaining increasing traction across the globe," said Altair's Eran Eshed. He added, "We are pleased to work with Imagination to help our customers achieve success in the market."
