NHN Japan's Line weighs move into e-commerce with chat app

NHN Japan is looking overseas to expand its Line mobile messaging application as it considers new ways to extend its foray into e-commerce. The service currently allows brands to advertise consumer products via "secret sales," but e-commerce will be approached carefully, said President Akira Morikawa. "If we think only about profits first, we may stop evolving and and start to lose customers."
