S.C. high-school students take off with aviation-career program

The Beaufort County School District in South Carolina became the second in the U.S. to partner with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to provide high-school students the opportunity to earn dual-enrollment credits with aviation coursework. Through the program, students at Battery Creek High School are partnering with the nearby Technical College of the Lowcountry to work on a Cessna aircraft. "Even if you don't go into aviation, you still get a head-start on college and learn valuable science, math and engineering skills applicable to many career fields," Battery Creek junior Wendell Roberson said.
