Apple and Comcast in talks for TV set-top partnership

Apple and Comcast are discussing the possibility of partnering for an Internet-based TV service that would pair an Apple set-top box with Comcast's broadband network, according to The Wall Street Journal. The deal would put the pressure to create the hardware on Apple but would mean collaboration, instead of competition, for Comcast. If Comcast's deal to buy Time Warner Cable is finalized, the cable operator will oversee almost 40% of the U.S. broadband market and 30% of the nation's pay-TV market.
