IIA conference looks at internal audit's growing responsibilities

One topic scheduled for The IIA's 2014 General Audit Management Conference this week was how internal auditors must balance concerns including compliance, strategic business risk and technology. An IIA survey says one solution increasingly being used is the "three lines of defense" model, which outlines how risk and control responsibilities should be allocated within an organization. Only about one-third of respondents, however, said such responsibilities were being defined clearly.
