Low back pain causes more global disability than other conditions

Lower back pain is responsible for more global disability than 291 other ailments, and the condition affected 9.4% of people in 2010, according to a review published in the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases. Pain in the lower back was more common among men than women, and geographic disparities were found, with Western Europe recording the highest age-adjusted rate and Caribbean the lowest.
