Plastic surgery among most competitive spots on Match Day

National Resident Matching Program data for this year showed surgery specialties were the most competitive, namely plastic surgery, neurological surgery, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology and radiation-oncology. Data showed that 54% of seniors and almost half of other applicants matched to their first choice for medical training.
