Video: Some markets may see shortages of nurse practitioners

The race to hire nurse practitioners and other advanced practitioners may be heating up, according to Rivka Friedman of the Advisory Board Company. A compensation survey found a $10,000 increase in the average salary for nurse practitioners and physician assistants, an indicator of increasing demand. Employers who are willing to train new graduates will have access to a greater pool of potential hires, according to David J. Zetter of Zetter HealthCare Management Consultants.
