Maryland Unions Win Senate Victory

The state Senate yesterday approved a bill to expand collective bargaining to such areas as curriculum and teacher assignments and evaluations, among others. The bill now faces a vote in the state House of Delegates, where it is expected to pass easily, a report says. School boards and superintendents have opposed the measure.
