Element in blueberries may combat bowel cancer

Blueberries, which contain a natural antioxidant called pterostilbene, may help to fight bowel cancer, according to new research. Cancer-induced rats who were fed pterostilbene had significantly less pre-cancers in their bowels, reduced inflammation and reduced rate of cell division than rats who did not receive the compound. Researchers hope a pill could be created containing the blueberry compound.
