Economy influences family planning decisions

U.S. health care providers say more patients are asking for vasectomies and abortions because they can't afford to have a child in this economy. More women also are seeking assistance in paying for birth control, experts say. Dr. J. Stephen Jones, a Cleveland Clinic urologist, says his monthly vasectomy caseload jumped from 45 to more than 70 since November.
