Texas bill would increase nurses' role in hospital staffing

The Texas Senate has passed legislation that would require 60% of the members of a hospital's nurse staffing committee to be nurses. State Sen. Jane Nelson, the bill's sponsor, said the measure would aid retention and help ensure nurses can provide high-quality patient care.
