A new widget will let Web developers add a Facebook "like" button to third-party sites, complementing the existing "share" button and giving Web companies another reason to design their sites to interact deeply with Facbeook's services. The system could give Facebook a trove of valuable data, not just about Web users, but also about the design and function of sites themselves, notes Michael Arrington. "It's a big idea," he writes. "The entire Internet will be turned into a tributary system for Facebook."
