Oregon drafts voluntary, energy-efficient building code

The Oregon Building Codes Division will begin to draft a voluntary building code for energy efficiency. The Oregon Reach Code will contain incentives for building green but will not be mandatory. "We're really trying to work with architects and designers and our new energy stakeholders, which haven't been a traditional stakeholder group," said Aeron Teverbaugh, green building services policy analyst with the BCD.
